The 22nd National Neuroscience Congress, jointly organized by Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Institute of Neurological Sciences and the Brain Research Association, and hosted by the Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Rectorate, was successfully concluded with great enthusiasm and distinguished participation.
Bringing together 446 participants, including international attendees, the congress commenced with a dynamic first day featuring six specialized training courses held across three campuses. These courses provided hands-on learning opportunities and showcased cutting-edge research techniques spanning diverse areas of neuroscience.
The official opening session, held on September 4, began with inspiring remarks from the congress co-chairs, Prof. Dr. Erdinç Dursun, Vice Director of the Institute of Neurological Sciences at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, and Prof. Dr. Tamer Demiralp, President of the Brain Research Association, along with Prof. Dr. Erol İnce, Vice Rector of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa.
A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of Honorary Board plaques to Prof. Dr. Selma Yılmazer, Prof. Dr. Ertan Yurdakoş, Prof. Dr. Ali Emre Öge, and Prof. Dr. Murat Emre, in recognition of their outstanding and longstanding contributions to the advancement of neuroscience in Türkiye.

Distinguished speakers from around the world, including John Hardy (UCL), François Féron (Aix-Marseille University), George Perry (University of Texas at San Antonio), Çağhan Kızıl (Columbia University), and Charlotte Teunissen (Amsterdam UMC), alongside leading researchers from Türkiye such as Şermin Genç (Dokuz Eylül University), Hakan Gürvit (Istanbul University), Ali Saffet Gönül (Ege University), and Güneş Ünal (Boğaziçi University), delivered inspiring lectures spanning a broad spectrum—from molecular mechanisms to behavioral research—highlighting the latest advances and sharing their pioneering work in neuroscience.
Complementing these keynote contributions, the scientific program was further enriched by 15 panels featuring a total of 45 experts, along with 94 oral and 62 poster presentations. Together, these sessions provided a comprehensive and dynamic platform covering virtually all domains of contemporary neuroscience.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all participants for their valuable contributions.
